In Philadelphia, there is a lot of talk about Ben Franklin and Betsy Ross—and for good reason.  But, join the Young Friends of Independence National Historical Park and you can walk in the footsteps of another famous founder who shaped and was shaped by Philadelphia:  George Washington.

It was here that George Washington attended the First and Second Continental Congresses, was appointed Commander-in-Chief, presided over the Constitutional Convention, served as the first President of the United States for seven of his eight years in that office, and was eulogized as “First in war—first in peace—and first in the hearts of his countrymen.”

On this free, 45-minute tour we will explore sites that tell of the story of George Washington in Philadelphia before, during, and after the American Revolution.  The tour will depart from the Museum of the American Revolution at 5:00 pm and end at the Presidents’ House Site at 6th and Market Streets.
